Afterglow has no account, no analytics and no ads. It talks straight to your Philips Hue Bridge and your Home Assistant, and to nothing else.
Your Hue Bridge on your home network, and your Home Assistant at the addresses you give it, such as its address away from home. Your lights, rooms and scenes travel between your iPhone and those, never through a server of ours.
Your homes and their settings: where your lamps stand, which floor you looked at last, what was lit before the house went dark. Also a copy of what your bridge and Home Assistant last reported, so the app opens instantly.
The key your Hue Bridge gave Afterglow, and the sign-in for Home Assistant, are kept in the iPhone’s Keychain. Removing a home deletes them, and Afterglow signs out of Home Assistant first.
You sign in on your own Home Assistant’s page. Afterglow never sees your password, only the sign-in Home Assistant hands back. This site holds just the short public description Home Assistant reads to recognise the app.
Vibe check reads the colours in front of the camera, on the phone, as you move. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
They run inside the app on your iPhone, using the same direct connection as a tap.
It sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
